When people think of embroidery, they tend to think of outdated floral patterning. Or a grandmother in a rocking chair embroidering simple scenes, or details on a hanky. Despite the increase in the DIY mentality, there is still a stigma about embroidery. 

Embroidery can accomplish aesthetics similar to drawing, graphic design or printmaking. I’ve even seen embroidery that directly recreates digital, photographs (but that will be for another day).

These pieces are by Jazmin Berakha, who is a graphic designer by trade. The amount of detail in the imagery is certainly a feat, since it looks like she is creating these pieces by hand.
